The Salesforce Developer shall provide technical services in the areas of data modeling and data mapping, application configuration and application administration as well as technical services in the areas of software development, application modeling, application deployment and configuration, custom coding and integration for a variety of applications.
Applications will be implemented in the broad categories of person registries and person data, workflow and case management, and alert and notification tracking.
The Department also has need of the advanced capabilities that the Salesforce Lightning Framework can bring to systems. Mobile development around this framework will also take place.
Cloud computing – Software services performed outside the confines of the enterprise and accessed in a secure fashion via the Internet. Under the Cloud Computing model we enable convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources such as networks, servers, storage, applications and services.
PaaS – Platform-as-a-Service defining the execution of the cloud-computing service. The off-premise datacenter operates as a software platform performing a variety of services and accessed via user licenses. Under this model software implementations are done as part of the Internet platform.
SaaS – Software-as-a-Service is the highest part the cloud-computing stack dealing primarily with end-users and application delivery.
IaaS – Infrastructure-as-a-Service is the foundation part of the cloud-computing stack allowing for the delivery of servers, storage, networks, operating systems and VMs.
Salesforce – A vendor providing PaaS platforms in order to deploy Cloud Computing services.
Force.com – One of the major platforms in the Salesforce environment provide developments tools such as Apex, Visualforce and Lightning.
Heroku – Another major platform in the Salesforce environment providing as access to Open-Source tools.
Visualforce – Advanced graphical environment encouraging visual software development on the salesforce platform.
Lightning components – A key update to the visual widgets and tools in the Salesforce environment producing a highly advanced graphical environment.
Apex – The key software development language under Salesforce for the development of triggers, exception handling, and key software objects.
The District of Columbia Department of Health maintains are variety of systems and database to support various programs in the areas of case management and disease surveillance. As a strategic direction the Department has decided implement certain key requirements under the Salesforce platform and to expand the use of cloud-managed environments. As a result the Department seeks to augment its development with skilled Salesforce implementers.
The Contractor shall possess and maintain the following levels of experience and skill sets:
At least three (3) years of experience in Salesforce Development and at least (5) years of experience in software lifecycle development.
The ability to implement applications across the Salesforce environments such as Force.com, Heroku, etc.
Experience and complete familiarity with Lightning Components, VisualForce, Apex Programming.
The ability to work with the Department of Health’s project and development team in developing Salesforce Applications.
The ability to understand and build from use-cases, analysis flows and overall requirements.
The ability to pull data and integrate with various reporting systems within the Department of Health.
Complete familiarity with Apex Triggers as well implementation of Web Services within Salesforce.
The following experience for Salesforce Developer will also be looked upon favorably by the Department of Health:
Development experience with the GovCloud platform.
Development extensive experience in the Heroku environment.
The ability in engage in close customization within the Salesforce Lightning Framework and Mobile app development especially in the area of our health licensing processes.
