6-10 years of experience. Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
Skills/Required Years of Experience:
6-10 yrs writing design specs for complex systems (Required 6 years)
6-10 yrs expertise and support of MS Office (Required 6 years)
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience (Required 6 years)
Technical writer must be experienced in the field of the environment or regulation (Required 6 years)
Creating technical documents, including guidance, manuals, reports, website content, and response to public comments (Required 6 years)
Explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. (Required 6 years)
Work with technical staff to ensure accuracy of written descriptions (Required 6 years)
Provide feedback to subject matter experts on their writing in a way that enables them to revise effectively (Required 6 years)
Work with technical staff to ensure key points come across clearly and are not lost within important but relatively minor details (Required 6 years)
Plan, develop, organize, write and edit technical guidance, technical reports, operational procedures, and technical manuals, as well as webpages (Required 6 years)
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation (Desired 6 years)
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style and content (Required 6 years)
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature (Required 6 years)
Responsibilities include writing content and working with subject matter experts to edit their content and assist with revision. Documents include technical guidance, technical reports, manuals, website content, responses to public comments, etc. Prefer background or familiarity with water resources and regulations.
1. Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
2. Coordinates the display of graphics and the production of the document.
3. Ensures content is of high quality and conforms to standards.
