The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is seeking an IT Consultant master level project manager who can plan and manage multiple projects aligning business goals to drive process improvement that provide bottom-line performance gains. The purpose of the position is to provide leadership, direction, and guidance within the OSSE Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring adherence to industry standard PMO processes and policies through close collaboration with OSSE senior division managers and product owners. This role will facilitate the establishment and maintenance of standards for project monitoring and control as well as provides support to projects being planned or executed. The project manager will play a key part in developing standard reporting templates and ensuring compliance with processes and project reporting standards for all projects. The incumbent is expected to keep abreast of current practices and trends in information technology as well as management and establishes a positive working relationship with OSSE leadership, information services, and program staff. This role guides technology solutions to business problems and assists with technology management improvement. The incumbent assists OSSE’s CIO in the identification of opportunities for IT resource consolidation, IT efficiencies, and leveraging existing technology and resources. This position requires experience managing project teams and producing high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed timeline and budgetary targets. The candidate must be an excellent communicator capable of leveraging technical, business, and financial acumen to communicate effectively with stakeholders both internal and external to the agency. The position requires cross-functional supervision, team building and mentoring, client relations and presentations business and IT planning.
