The Sr. Project Manager for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence will lead technical teams for the purpose of designing and developing dashboards, reporting environments, and applications for the Citywide Data Warehouse (CityDW). The Sr. Project Manager will also play a major role in pursuing new business for the Citywide Data Warehouse program. The program provides a centralized access point for enterprise wide data with a focus on providing data that enables decision support and government transparency. A primary stakeholder is DC Government’s DCStat program (capstat.oca.dc.gov), a Mayoral initiative designed to help make the DC government accountable to its residents by providing access to information of interest to its citizens and by making the government operations as transparent as possible. CityDW is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence to fill a critical position on our team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in managing all phases of the full SDLC, to include managing projects that relate to Data Warehousing services, as well as, projects specifically related to Business Intelligence.
The Sr. Project Manager for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence consults with senior management of District agencies and/or their business and technical leads to assist the client in providing technical solutions to current agency needs and challenges. To this end, the Sr. Project Manager conducts research, performs studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyzes problems to advise on or recommend solutions. The Sr. Project Manager will make these recommendations based on their knowledge of best practices, the principles which govern technical solutions, and a thorough understanding of specific technologies that are currently used to provide solutions to client needs related to Data Warehousing services and Business Intelligence. This position requires knowledge in fields defined as information technology, computer programming, business systems analysis, database management, information systems, web-based applications development, software development, and related fields. The ideal candidate will also have experience in using their technical knowledge to strengthen customer relationships and to identify new opportunities that add additional value.
