Designs and builds databases, data warehouses, or networks including data acquisition, conversion, and interfaces. Optimizes organizational goals through enterprise standards.
Strong fundamental knowledge & experience of Informatica power center IDE tools like mapping designer and Workflow manager (IPC v9.x experience is a plus) with sound SQL querying knowledge. Experience working with cluster database instances and Informatica cluster(multi-node) instances. Good automation knowledge with IPC’s PMREP and PMCMD CLI.

Prior work & support experience with industry standard scheduler products is a plus. Candidate will work with MPD, other agency partners and other contractors to supplement the Department’s existing Legacy and Operational Data Warehouses. Candidates are encouraged to review the project Statement of Work for additional details.

This position builds databases, data warehouses, data acquisition, conversion and interfaces. Candidate must be able to automate various daily, weekly and monthly jobs that are running manually, Candidate should use informatica as ETL tool to transform the data to Oracle data warehouse. Candidate should be expert in using one of the reporting tools to generate the reports.

Candidate should have some Oracle and SQL database management experience. Candidate will work with MPD, other agency partners and other contractors to supplement the Department’s existing Legacy and operational Data warehouses.

Some of the job responsibilities include:

Maintenance
• Automate the jobs using informatica to oracle data warehouse.
• Database software patch installations
• Database upgrades
• Server cleanups of logs, old logins, old files, etc.
• Database configuration changes
• Database jobs configuration changes
• Database availability verifications after Maintenance Window
• Database conversions to SQL Server or Oracle from different sources
• Database refresh into development and stage
• Database restore
• DDL Changes (Tables/Views/Stored Procedures/Packages/Triggers)
• DCL Changes (Accounts/Permissions/Passwords)
• Data Load/Refresh (Databases/Schemas/Tables)
• Create database backup for users/vendors
• Setup cross database connectivity using DB Link and Linked Servers

Disaster Recovery Site Maintenance
• Disaster recovery database setup
• Disaster recovery failover and fail back tests

Data Warehouse
• Support creating table partitions, bitmap indexes, star transformation, data compression and query rewrite.
• Implement multiple methods of data extraction.
• Write Packages, Procedures and Functions for data transformations.
• High level of expertise in parallel operations and parallel executions.
• Maintenance and support of Materialized views.
• Support for data profiling, meta data analysis, data modeling and relational schema.
• Support and maintain UNIX/Windows shell scripts
• Backup & recovery
• Create data models, develop Data Warehouses and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server)

Required Experience:
Oracle Database Management Experience (8  Years)
Informatica ETL Experience (5  Years)
SQL Server Database Management Experience (Highly desired)
Experience with building and maintaining data warehouses (5  Years)
Experience designing risk management plans (Desired)
Experience designing and implementing performance and regression testing (Desired)
Experience with Records Management System data migrations (Highly desired)
Experience with BI tool – IBM Cognos (Nice to have)
