Short Description:
The District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency is currently seeking an experienced IT Clerk to provide operations support for operations and maintenance of the agency’s IT systems.
Complete Description:
The IT Clerk will assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of server and desktop computers, peripheral equipment (including networked printers and faxes) and software within established standards and guidelines.
Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
Works with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers, application servers, and administrative systems.
Candidate must be a highly self-motivated individual and able to work well alone or with a team.
Required / Desired Skills
Experience with Desktop computer and server support (Required 6 Years)
Experience with Desktop and production printer support (Required 5 Years)
Desktop software support (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Pro, and Internet Explorer) (Required 5 Years)
Exp Assisting in maintaining network and telephone system cabling (Required 4 Years)
Exp Assisting in ordering technology supplies (Required 4 Years)
Exp Assisting IT staff with help desk support (Required 5 Years)
Exp Assisting IT staff with orienting staff on use of hardware and software (Highly desired 3 Years)
– Selected candidate will work onsite up to 40 hours/week, be supplied with a work area, desk telephone, network connection, printing capability and power.
– Candidate must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
