OCTO has an immediate opening for a Project Manager to manage multiple software development and implementation projects. Projects include new design, development and implementation of various Software systems and activities need to be coordinated with multiple agencies.
The candidate will coordinate with program managers who have operational responsibility for these systems and the other agency IT staff as needed.
Works with functional teams and technical teams, manages vendor/client relationship, and develops work plans/project plans for new software development projects and implementations.
Identifies and manages risk.
May work with business owners of multiple agencies in developing requirements, identifying priorities, estimating cost of work to performed, creates project schedules and ensures completion of approved projects.
Create and maintain project schedules and related project documentation and follows up with appropriate staff.
Works with technical staff across different OCTO teams to ensure completion of all project tasks.
Creates resource plans and submits for management approval. Manages the project staff allocated to the approved projects and coordinates and balances resource pool in a matrix environment.
Generates detailed status reports for management review.
Able to work comfortably with minimal supervision; able to work in a fast paced IT environment with quickly changing priorities.
Able to balance resources to achieve maximum productivity in a fast paced environment.
Required Experience:
Software Development Life Cycle Project Management (Required 8 Years)
Project Management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, SharePoint) (Required 8 Years)
Basic system design concepts (Nice to have)
Excellent written and oral communication (Required 8 Years)
Technical experience in implementing .NET based web applications (Nice to have)
Risk Analysis (Required 5 Years)
Technical Project management experience (Required 8 Years)
Experience in Agile methodology (Highly desired)
Experience in managing technical resources (Required 5 Years)
Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
