Short Description:

Skills: 8+ years of experience in IT Quality Assurance testing with experience in large database conversion projects involving 10+ years of Legacy data.

Complete Description:

This is a hands-on position that requires multiple cycles of data analysis using complex SQL queries in SQL server and/or Oracle databases as needed. The candidate must be able to extract data dumps from databases where a direct comparison is not possible and then compare them for violations of business rules. The candidate must have working knowledge of how to compare records between databases using SQL queries, and leverage tools like Exam Diff, Beyond Compare, Edit Plus to compare data file dumps. The candidate must pay close attention to meticulous details in the data validation process in an iterative fashion to be 100% compliant with data quality standards set forth by the business requirements. Previous experience with automation of similar tasks will give the candidate a strong advantage. The candidate must write test plans and track/document results of each test cycle that is performed. The candidate will also work with the ETL team to resolve all identified data quality issues. After identifying violations of business rules the candidate will also be required to assist in the manual correction of errors in the source systems where needed. The candidate must have strong verbal skills and must be able to communicate with non-technical people. He/she must be able to write clear explanations of complex topics, as much of MPD’s correspondence is handled through e-mail. Candidates must be pro-active, follow written instructions and work independently. Candidate is expected to function as Project Manager/Team Lead for ongoing data quality analysis and cleansing as related to a large scale legacy data conversion. As such, candidate is expected to adhere to project life-cycle best practices and communicate project statuses, needs and risks to stakeholders and business owners.

Required Skills:

Experience managing expectations during project deliverable (Required 8 Years)
Experience defining the test scope for the QA team, create test schedules, manage team resources, and delegate testing tasks among QA team (Required 8 Years)
Experience resolving identified defects and document defects for tracking (Required 5 Years)
Complete working knowledge of SDLC and STLC life-cycle model (Required 6 Years)
SQL querying knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and above.(Required 6 Years)
SQL querying knowledge of Oracle 10g and above. (Required 8 Years)
Ability to write complex SQL scripts to accomplish data conversion/validation testing (Required 8 Years)
Basic knowledge of performance tuning of long-running SQL queries
with Oracle & SQL Server (Required 8 Years)
Experience developing and documenting analyses of business needs and
review and comment on testability of the standards set forth by the business team (Required 6 Years)
Experience producing test plans and test cases (Required 8 Years)
Tracking and preparing reports for testing activities (including results,
test cases, resources, defects status, performance baselines) (Required 8 Years)
Experience with recommending fixes and database performance and tuning optimizations to programmers (Required 8 Years)
Experience with the development and execution of automated test scripts for regression testing and retesting (Required 8 Years)
Experience creating Project Status Reports, track Project Risks and
deliver to Management (Required 6 Years)
Experience reviewing reports prepared by engineers (Required 6 Years)
Experience preparing/updating metrics for project dashboards (Required 6 Years)
Experience using Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Windows (Required 6 Years)
Experience in Windows or Linux (Desired 8 Years)
PMP certification (Highly desired 6 Years)
