Complete Description:

the DC.Gov web portal. The portal educates and informs District residents and other interested parties to the various policies, programs, services and systems that constitute
the District Government. The team manages website content publication workflow; provides editorial and standards oversight for all content, troubleshoots minor issues
and responds to emergency situations that require immediate public notification; and assists and advises other District projects in integrating new content into the DC.Gov
web portal. The Web Maintenance Team is currently in the middle of a project to migrate all District agency websites from DC.Gov’s current content management systems (DSF
and OpenText) to a new Drupal platform. This phase of the project anticipates migrating approximately 40 OpenText websites to this platform. Editors will be expected to work on
several agency websites concurrently. The migration will include converting the websites to a new look and feel that has already been developed by OCTO.
Transition activities include managing agency client expectations, explaining technical concepts to nontechnical people, assisting the agency with developing a new information architecture, content preparation, content migration, agency site editorial review, photo and graphic resizing, agency site launch, etc. The candidate will work with a business analyst on the development of the site architecture. The candidate will follow universal content management principles as well as District of Columbia web standards throughout content migration efforts. It is the candidate’s responsibility to become familiar with District of Columbia terminology, District services and the agencies that provide such services. Some fact finding and research is required. This phase of the project is expected to last approximately 8-10 months. Familiarity with Drupal or other similar Content Management Systems and with website conversions are highly desirable. Although the principal role is that of a web editor, strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to work with others are contemplated as part of this position.
Behavior Characteristics:
Able to work in a challenging environment, with changing priorities and assignments.
Multi-task on multiple web migration projects. Detail oriented. Organized. Work
collaboratively with large team. Can explain technical processes to non-technical individuals
Background check is required, if selected for the position. There are no reimbursable expenses allocated to this position.
