This individual will be the responsible for developing and managing the District’s sub-grant program; providing required technical assistance to prospective sub-grant recipients; and working across District agencies to develop and drive policy changes which will strategically support a better understanding of the issues impeding wider broadband adoption.

This position will require excellent verbal and written communication as well as a deep understanding of local government law, grant programs, and non-profit operations. In addition, this position will require the ability to convene and lead coalitions of diverse and often conflicting community organizations and individuals to drive toward the shared goal of increased broadband adoption.

In addition to coordinating broadband policy across agencies and developing a sub-grant program, the Broadband Coordinator will create and implement a curriculum for the Mobile Technology Lab.

The Mobile Tech Lab (MTL) will be used to bring technology resources to underserved communities by providing computer and Internet access on a converted bookmobile.

Candidate will create and implement a curriculum that will address the technology needs of previously underserved communities. A successful candidate must be proficient in MS Office and able to address common questions/concerns of users, including, but not limited to, the following: 1) job searching, 2) resume writing, 3) web browsing, and 4) accessing online government services and information. Candidate must also possess excellent technical writing skills.
