Contract until end of fiscal year 9/30/2012 with strong possibility of 1 year extension
The Senior SQL Database Administrator will also install and configure RDBMS software, periodically patch applications, troubleshoot problems, provide performance tuning, software configuration, capacity planning, architecture recommendations, data migrations, database backup and database recovery. Provide production system support 24X7 on a rotation basis. Proactively monitor and tune databases as needed; define backup, restore, and recovery requirements. Provide recommendations for large database sizing, provide batch scripting support and provide technical documentation. Install and interface with emerging technologies databases to include SAML protocols, SOAP, Net 2.0 technologies.
Required Experience:
Non-Production support for custom and COTS systems MS SQL Server (7 Years)
Production DBA support for custom and COTS systems: MS SQL Server (7 Years)
Support system implementation with database installation/configuration (5 Years)
Experience with MS SQL Server 2005 and up (5 Years)
Familiar with Column Based Database software technologies (Highly desired)
Experience as a Database Administrator (8 Years)
Experience with emerging interface protocols, Open API’s, SAML,Net 2.0, XSL (3 Years)
Experience with the emerging DaaS (Database as a Service) (Highly desired)
Familiar with Column Based Database software technolgies (Highly desired)
