Complete Description
The Coordinator will:
•Collaborate with individuals and organizations, primarily in underserved areas, to promote solutions to bridging the digital divide. These include, but are not limited to the following: 1) providing access to high-speed broadband Internet, 2) providing access to affordable computers, and 3) providing access to computer training programs.
•Identify “digital gaps” in access and training and work to raise awareness of the District’s Digital Inclusion program.
•Solicit feedback from residents and community anchors about their experiences with Digital Inclusion programs.
•Proactive outreach to the stakeholders, such as community anchor institutions, District government agencies, businesses, and residents
•Promote participation in the deployment of digital divide solutions (i.e., computer/Internet access and training)
•This individual will also be responsible for developing and managing the District’s sub-grant program; providing required technical assistance to prospective sub-grant recipients; and working across District agencies to develop and drive policy changes which will strategically support a better understanding of the issues impeding wider broadband adoption.
The candidate should expect to spend a significant amount of time traveling for outreach events and will be periodically required to work in the evening and on the weekends to attend and coordinate community events.

Requested Skill/Experience Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required 5 Years)
Experience creating press releases (Required 5 Years)
Experience with MS Office Suite (Required 4 Years)
Experience working with traditional and social media in a professional capacity (Required 5 Years)
In-depth knowledge of the District of Columbia’s neighborhoods and the populations going to be served (Required 2 Years)
Knowledge of broadband,wireless technology, and the digital divide (Required 4 Years)
Market research, forecasting and analysis of social media trends (Required 4 Years)
Experience creating a documentary (Highly desired 2 Years)
Entrepreneurial experience (Desired 4 Years)
Experience shooting and editing video (Desired 4 Years)
Experience using Sharepoint (Desired 4 Years)
Experience with MS Project (Desired 4 Years)
Experience with Visio (Desired 3 Years)
Extensive experience in both the public/private sector (Desired 4 Years)
Valid Driver’s License (Required)
